Questions
What families ask us
How does admissions work?
Families visit, apply, and the student spends a day in class. The office calls within three weeks of that day. The admissions page lists each step.
Can we visit before we apply?
Yes. A visit day is a morning in a classroom and a conversation with the head of school. Students are welcome to come along.
What is a day like?
It opens with a morning meeting and reading groups, then math, a long lunch and time outdoors, projects and a story before dismissal.
How big are the classes?
Each grade band is one class, and the size of each is on the programs page. A teacher knows every student by name.
How do we tell the school about our child?
At the visit, in a conversation. The website form doesn't ask, and we ask for anything we need once a family enrolls.
What does support look like day to day?
Reading groups, extra time that a teacher plans ahead, a quiet room that is open all day and a specialist who visits once a week.
How does tuition work, and how do we ask about aid?
Tuition is set by grade band, and the office gives its figures at a visit. Financial aid is available; the tuition page shows how to apply.
What about lunch and phones?
Families send lunch, and phones stay in a basket at the door until dismissal.
Is there before or after care?
Yes. Before care opens at 7:45 a.m. and after care runs until 5:00 p.m., billed by the month for the days a family uses.
How does the school talk with families?
A conversation before the first day, a short note home each month and a longer meeting twice a year.
Still have a question?
Write to the office, or book a visit day.
